PRESENTING "Selected Cum Mixes Volume 1" (JASP003), The critically acclaimed first full length LP by The Man At The Lamp Post. Local Brummie lads Scott Norman on vocals, Brent Wesley on trumpet, Amir Hussein on cheese grater and Alan (DJ Cum) Bond on sausage fattener make up this four man experimental noise group, and each of them has been dying to share this new sonic experience with you! Released only one day apart from their second EP "We Raided Scott Norman's Computer", this LP is the start of a series of remixes done for artists the boys love, and those they hate as well!
Formed in 2009, The Man At The Lamp Post struggled with direction for a long time. Initially dabbling in stoner rock and fidget house, The Man found direction in 2013 after a fateful trip to Thailand that resulted in Alan Bond becoming soaked in elephant cum. This event was seen by the band as vision sent by Christ, and they knew that their future lay in experimental noise music.
Their first EP, "Sleeping Under The Magic Screwdriver" (2014) was a harrowing and emotional experience that invoked images of addiction, poverty and stomach problems. This first installment in the Selected Cum Mixes series pushes sound design to it's limit, and has an intense emotional range across the 21 tracks. Harsh, mind melting noise, soothing fuzz and melody and bizarre and intelligent social comedy in the form of spoken word poetry are woven together in this masterpiece of adaptation, in to a whole that feels cohesive and meaningful. Discarding the playfulness of "We Raided", these cummy mixes probe deep into the bowls of what makes The Man At The Lamp Post, melancholy, diarrhea, aggression, lust and various types of semen, human or otherwise.
